I am giving my daughter a unique name - trolls struggle to pronounce it and say she'll be bullied bu

A WOMAN has been slammed online for the very unusual name she plans on giving her daughter.

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous woman, from the US, explained that she and her husband love the "very unpopular name.'

She continued: "Okay we love the name Brynhilda. I like that you can use Brynn or Hildie as shortened names.

"I like that it means ‘ready for war.” I see it as like ready for anything."

The concerned mum went on to note how her husband is a huge fan of "unpopular/different" names and added that she wishes she could share the name of their other daughter, who has a different mum.

"I can’t even think of anything close to it," she wrote.

"Anyway, our friends are saying she will definitely be bullied (I don’t understand how!)

"I told my grandma who is from Germany (we live in the US) and she thought it was a bizarre name.

"I kind of feel bad our other daughter's name is so different and people have a really hard time pronouncing it.

"I do not want that at all for this baby.”

She then went on to ask social forum users what they think - and they didn't hold back with their opinions.

“It’s funny on a different level for the Welsh,” wrote one. “Bryn followed by a “hill” - Bryn literally translates to hill in English. It’d just be laughed at here.

"If you’re gonna go for it, go with Brunnhilde. Or better yet, something else.”

A second agreed: “That’s what I thought too! Hillhilda.”

A third penned: "I like that it means ready for war"????? wtf???” while a fourth added: “Poor baby isn't even born yet, and that name is already punishment.”

Another quipped: “My mum had a dog named Brunnhilde when she was young. Dog went by Bruni... fine name for a dog. Weird for a kid.”

A further confused user asked: “You don't understand how someone might not like Brynhilda?! Really?”

Elsewhere, a final person penned: “My face while reading this could be a meme. This is terrible.”
